Premier League club Manchester City are currently in talks with Brazilian midfielder Fernadinho over the signing of a new deal at the club after offering him a contract extension. The contract talks have also progressed well and the player is showing signs of willingness to finally put pen to paper on the new contract.
The midfielder has helped the club to the summit of the English Premier League table as they are about to clinch another league title at the expense of their other rivals. He has also been a pivotal figure in their journey to reaching the UEFA Champions League final as well as the FA Cup final which they will be playing against Chelsea.
Fernadinho may not appear to be one of those exciting names on the team sheet on a matchday, but his contributions to the team at every key and have been essential to their meteoric rise throughout this current campaign.
He will sign a one-year deal that will see him remain at the club until at least the summer of 2022 and will not be leaving in this coming summer, contrary to what many had expected. In a brief interview with the club’s official website some weeks ago, the midfielder said he wants to help the club win all the available titles they can get their hands on this season and start the next campaign on the front foot as well.
