Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is stepping up his return process from injury after recently providing an update to his fans as he returns to light training. In the update the former Southampton defender provided, he revealed that he is currently training with former AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf as he edges towards his return date from his season-ending injury.

Van Dijk, one of the most important players for Liverpool, if not the most important, picked up a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury as he collided with Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the Merseyside Derby on the 17th of October. Since then, the talismanic defender has not featured for his club and is focusing on making a return from the long injury lay-off.

He is not the only important defender currently out of action for Liverpool as he is joined on the sidelines by fellow defensive partner Joe Gomez. Both players are just two of the many players who have been injured in a season where Liverpool have suffered major injury crises already.

Fans were glad to see that van Dijk is working his way towards making a return, and the calibre of player he has been working with as well. Seedorf, a retired Dutch international midfielder is widely regarded as one of the best players to have ever graced a football pitch. The 44-year-old is a winner of the UEFA Champions League with three different clubs; Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Ajax.

Seedorf also declared that he was very happy to see his compatriot working very hard to come back as early as possible and get involved on the pitch again. He said that van Dijk is currently working hard and will do anything possible to return as quickly as possible.

Klopp has also missed his expensive defender and will be eager to have him back available for selection as soon as possible.
